Stephanie Smart
Stephanie was introduced to Ortho-Bionomy as a client in 1986 during her recovery from an auto accident. She then began taking Ortho-Bionomy classes and attending school for Business Management. After completing her Bachelors degree at Antioch University in  Business Management, Stephanie moved from California to Michigan where she eventually became a corporate trainer and manager. After suffering corporate burnout she went back to school and received her Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in 2002. During this time Stephanie also completed the remaining training to become an Ortho-Bionomy Practitioner. Stephanie is a licensed acupuncturist in the State of Indiana.

In 2004 with the birth of her first son Stephanie shifted her focus and became a stay at home parent. She took this time to complete her training as an Advanced Ortho-Bionomy Practitioner and begin her formal training as an Ortho-Bionomy Instructor. 

Stephanie has trained extensively with Dr. Tran in Classical Energetic Chinese Medicine. This training focuses on the original classical manuscripts on Oriental medicine and the energetic connections that the earlier pioneers in Chinese Medicine discovered. Additionally Dr. Tran is an Allopathic physician and taught the correlations between eastern and western medicines. For example when teaching about gynecology he showed the energetic pathways and corresponding acupuncture points and treatment methods as well as the western model of etiology and pathology.

Stephanie has also studied Shamanism, is a Reiki Master, and is always looking forward to learning new things.

In her free time, she loves spending time with her children, ages 4 1/2 and 9 months, swimming, gardening, and reading.

The formation of Green Dragon Wellness is Stephanie's return to working part-time and the completion of her training as an Ortho-Bionomy Instructor.  She is looking forward to sharing the principles of Ortho-Bionomy with others in her classes and in teaching how she combines Chinese Medicine and Ortho-Bionomy in her practice.

Stephanie's passion for comfort, ease, and joy is evident in her sessions and classes. She truly embodies the principles of Ortho-Bionomy.
